Glossary / definitions – terms used on this site

Non-resident – an individual living abroad and/or spending less than an average of 90 days a year in the UK.

Non-domicile – a non-UK citizen who intends to return to their country of origin.

Offshore workers – individuals working in the UK designated area of the North Sea or in other offshore locations; including divers.

Expatriate – a UK individual living and/or working overseas or a non-UK individual living and/or working in the UK.
